Sanskara is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘sanskr’ meaning ‘to form well’, ‘ to put together’.

The organization was conceived by Aneeta Malhotra and established with the aim to protect India’s natural heritage through collaborative programmes and projects.

Registered in 2002 in New Delhi India as a non profit, Sanskara promotes environmental conservation by engaging key stakeholders from a cross section of Indian society: including, leading representatives of the Indian Government, corporations, high profile media personalities, celebrities of film and sport, national and international institutions, village councils and local community organizations.

Sanskara’s philosophy is based on the principles of Global Citizenship which highlights that  ‘your values, beliefs and actions CAN shape a sustainable future’.
